Spent my day today working with D9 Hosting Support to fix my blog and organize my url’s and files. Let me start by saying that the support people have been great and that it’s amazing how much one can get done using email – and that they did most of the work while I waited and asked a few questions.
This morning I was trying to figure out how I ended up with my blog on my root site (susanrosin.com) instead of what was supposed to be my blog site (susanrosin.com/blog). It didn’t make any sense to me as I had followed all of the P2S directions and WordPress showed as being installed as the /blog url even though the WordPress site’s General Settings said it was using my root url without the /blog at the end.
Ended up, again, with a Internal Server Error which made it impossible to get to any of my posts from the landing page. I was ready to just delete it all and start all over again. I had copies of all of my posts and all of my W-P plugins and widgets if I needed. But after letting the support people know what I needed they were able to get it all organized in the way I wanted. Hooray!!
Tomorrow I will spend some time making sure that my Aweber account is set up correctly and aiming at the right url as well as that the square social media buttons are also working correctly. Then I will get back to doing an introductory video on my YouTube channel so that the YouTube button takes people to a place that is in existence and not a to page that says that there is no channel there…
What I learned today is that I have entered an entirely different area from what I am used to. I have been a computer programmer (in a previous career) and I am pretty savvy with personal computers, files, and websites but I am a complete novice when it comes to WordPress, blogs, and sales funnels. I still have so much to learn but I am confident that being in the P2S program will get me there soon and help me to be more successful than I could ever have done on my own.
In the meantime I will pour myself a glass of wine, make myself some dinner, and feel good that my site is now set up for success. Cheers!!
